90 Day Wondering

Published 1956

90 Day Wondering (1956) United States Army/Warner Bros. Directed by seasoned Warner Bros. animator Chuck Jones and featuring the voice of Mel Blanc, we see young soldier Ralph Phillips re-entering the civilian world and puzzling over reenlisting.
Two spritely characters, Pete and Re-Pete, try to sway his decision. Since this was produced for the U.S. Army, we can guess which argument comes out on top. The character Ralph Phillips shows up as a hyper-imaginative kid in other Warner Bros. cartoons in Boyhood Daze and From A to Z-Z-Z-Z. He also appears as a young adult facing the draft in Drafty, Isn’t It?

Subject: RE-UP!
In this, a man tries to make up his mind about whether to repply to the army when home town life isn't the same as when he left. Nice animation and voice work here.
